Steve Carlton, pitching from 1965-1988 the first pitcher to win 4 Cy Young Awards! The ten time All Star led the league in many pitching categories striking out 4,136 batters in his career.
Charlie Manuel, playing for the Twins & Dodgers from 1969-1975 had his career take off when he played in Japan where he was wildly popular for his tenacious style of play. Dubbed “Aka-Oni” (Red Devil) by fans and teammates.
Charlie return to MLB as manager of the Cleveland Indians and later the Phillies.
In 2008 Charlie lead the Phillies to the World Series Championship endearing himself to Phillies fan forever!
