On Tuesday, August 23rd, David Ortiz was Inducted into the Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame at Tropicana Field. David’s display case was unveiled to the media and he received a sign Ted Williams Bat provided by Claudia Williams, daughter of the Greatest Hitter who ever lived! The Big Papi Case is already one of the most popular displays in the Museum and many of the thousand of Red Sox fans who attended the last home stand posed to have their pictures taken in front of it. Ted Williams Museum Board of Director George Katis presented the bat on behalf of Claudia, followed by Oreste DeStrada of Fox Sports interviewing David on his award winning career. Executive Director David McCarthy has announced a limited edition of previously signed Ted Williams Bats have been co signed by David Ortiz to honor his Induction. These Bats, numbered 1-34, are presented on a beautiful wall display commemorating the 500 Home Run Seasons of Ted Williams & David Ortiz. The bats are available for a tax deductible donation of $3,400 to benefit the Ted Williams Scholarship Fund. Shipping and packaging is free.
